What is Encryption ?
According to the definition in Wikipedia, Encryption is the process of encoding information. This process converts the original representation of the information, known as plaintext, into an alternative form known as ciphertext.

In technical terms, your shared data is encoded; it is converted into an unreadable format. When it reaches to the person at the receiving end, the unreadable data is decoded and becomes readable to the specified recipient only.

It means, Encryption is the process which is used to hide our sensitive data in the form of random secret keys.
For Example:- When we enter our Bank information, Debit/Credit card information, Aadhaar, PAN information or any such type of sensitive data in any website or in application they forward the information in a encrypted way, or denoted as random secret keys.

Now a days many messaging services are also comes with end-to-end encryption. This means You and the person to whom you are sending the message can only see. Nor can the messaging provider see yours messages, nor can store it.
