World's Fastest Internet 178Tbps, Can Download Netflix All Content Within a Second

I think you all have heard about the fastest Internet speed i.e. 178Tbps😲 which is equavalent to 178,000 Gbps. Just in May, we heard that the world has experienced the fastest internet speed in Australia at 44.2Tbps.

So, In this post I'll try to make you aware of some amazing facts about this insane internet speed. Here, we go

1. Researchers at the University College London have set the new record for the fastest internet in the world at 178 terabites per second or 1,78,000 Gbps.
2. The project was conducted by Dr Lidia Galdino from the Royal Academy of Engineering, Xtera and Kiddi Research.
3. To get this insane speed, UCL researchers have applied a higher range of wavelength instead of the standard Fibre Optic ones.
4. Newer amplifier technology to boost signal farther while amplifying it massively.
5. As of now, Very few markets has 4.5THz and 9THz commercial bandwidth. However this technology uses 16.8THz to achive this insane internet speed 178Tbps.
6. The top speed recorded is 17,800 times faster than the fastest connection available to consumers.
7. The entire storage capacity of YouTube, which is thought to be around 4,00,00 terabytes, will take just 37 minutes to download.

In a statement, Dr. Galdino said,"Independent of the COVID-19 crisis, internet traffic has increased exponentially over the last 10 years and this whole growth in datademand is related to the cost per bit going down. The development of new technologies is crucual to maintain this trend towards lower costs while meeting future data rate demands that will continue to increase, with as yet unthought- of applications that will transform people's lives."

However, don't get excited, this technology will not be put to commercial use any time soon.
