Auto makers are on their toes to update their entire lineup with BS6 compliant engines. While some products are getting the same power output with the updated engine, some are losing out on it.
One such bike is the Yamaha MT-15. It was recently revealed at the Fascino 125 BS6 launch event but the Japanese bike maker didn’t announce the specifications of the updated bike.
The power output of the Yamaha MT-15 BS6 has been leaked and the updated 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine will now produce 18.5 PS of peak power at 10,000 RPM. In contrast, the BS4 version of the engine produces 19.3 PS at 10,000 RPM.
The torque figures are yet to be revealed but is likely to remain the same. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.
There are no other changes with the BS6 updated of the bike except for the new Ice Fluo Vermillion colour option that comes with orange wheels.
The price of the Yamaha MT-15 is likely to go up by Rs. 5000/- for the BS6 model. The Japanese bike maker will introduce the updated model in February 2020.
